The Trefoil Process presents a total environmental solution for waste disposal. It provides for:

• The recycling of waste materials into a useful, saleable product
  
• The recovery of energy from waste, displacing the combustion of fossil fuels with a net benefit to the green house effect
  
• The preservation of the natural environment by using synthetic aggregates rather than quarried natural stone / granitite and dredged sand.

The Trefoil process has two functions, first the disposal of waste material and secondly the production of synthetic aggregate for use in concrete. The priority of function (i.e. waste disposal or aggregate production) can be varied to suit the client’s needs.

Using the process sintering temperature, silica and other oxides combine with alkali oxides to form the insoluble silicate substances in the sintered materials. With organic substances burning in an oxygen rich atmosphere, they oxidise into harmless gas.

The emissions are virtually dust free and can easily be controlled to conform to the highest of emission standards.
