Any of the following or a mixture
- PFA (pulverised fuel ash) including bottom ash and slag from coal fired power stations
- Most types of dredged marine silts and aggregate washings that will typically contain silica / clay / organic materials. This silt may contain heavy metal contaminates which within reasonable limits can be dealt with by the RTAL Process
- Clay extracted from building works (or clay specifically extracted for use in the process with the excavated area later used for landfill )
- Ash from other incinerator plants
- Sludge, i.e. from water treatment works, textile plants and other commercial processes (would usually have to be mixed with one of the above materials)
- Mine tailings Quarry over-burden

Any biodegradable material which can be handled and can be either dry powdered or will slurry including
- Sewage cake
- Biodegradable part of MSW (Municipal garbage)
- Carbon / slag from gasification
- Paper pulp cake
- Farming slurries and Chicken/turkey wastes
- Methane gas from existing landfill sites
- Gas from gasification process
